HOW Is a Muslim Settle His Misfortunes

VERY sad to say that many of us have acquainted with Allah, but we did not identify Allah. Some of us identify Allah, but they ignored His present or just forget Allah. We did not put Allah in our heart. It seemed that Allah is too far away in the unknown sphere of life. In fact we did not love Allah.

So that any things we do, we did not consider Allah. We did not make Allah as our foundation in every step we take. We ignore Allah in every effort we make in our life to reach our goal.

It seemed that we forgot Allah as:

“Allah is He, than Whom there is no other god-Who knows [all things] both secret and open; He , Most Gracious, Most Merciful”..

“Allah is He, than Whom there is no other god-the Sovereign, the Holy one, the Source of Peace [and Perfection], the Guardian of Faith, the Preserver of Safety, the Exalted in Might, the Irresistible, the Supreme; Glory to Allah! [High is He] above the partners the attribute to Him”.

“He is Allah, the Creator, the Evolver, the Bestower of Forms [or Colours]. To Him belong the Most Beautiful Names; whatever is in the heavens and on the earth, does declare His Praises and Glory; and He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise”.S:Al-Hashr:22-24.

“Say: He is Allah, the One and only; Allah, the Eternal, Absolute; He begets not, nor is He begotten; And there is none like unto Him”.S. Al-Ikhlas

That is Allah.

We seemed to forget that our life in this mortal world is not free from any difficulty. In fact our life is not spread with a carpet of beautiful red roses. We should be very careful in our walk of life so that we did not step on the sharp stones that will cut our feet, and will hinder us to continue for journey to reach our ambitions.

As human being we want our life the run smoothly and did not want our life to be touch by any difficulty. We want to be always happy up the end of our life. But sometimes Allah made different agenda for us to follow. Many misfortune or disasters have been fallen on us as we move forward in our life. Nobody can stop what have happen, what is happening now and what will be happen in future times, except Al-Mighty Allah, God of the world.

Allah gave us misfortunes to tests our faith strong or weak, or to know we are good or bad as a human being. What is happening is in the hand of Allah. He has the right to do what he wanted to do. He did not need any help from whom. He is the Almighty.

“Blessed be He in Whose hands is Dominion, and He over all things has Power”.

“He who created Death and Life, that He may try which of you is best in deed; and He is the Exalted in Might, Off-Forgiving”.S: Al-Mulk:1 & 2.

Allah made misfortune not only to test the good or the bed sides of His slaves, but also have many secrets things that only a good man can see or realised that.

Allah wanted men to take as an example how tolerant are the prophets, the saints and the faithful men when they have to face the misfortunes that be fallen on them by Allah will, besides Allah wanted to upgraded their status in His eyes.

Allah gave the misfortune to the sinners to teach him a lesson so that they admitted their sins and asked forgiveness and repent to Allah.

Allah descend the misery to the non Muslim in this world to make them taste the punishment before they get the true punishment in this world after, in more severe form and the state of immortal.

But very sad to say that many of us did not care about the warnings given by Allah, and continue to involved in the immoral deeds and in their sayings. In fact it looked like they are asking for more trouble from Allah, Whose has given warning after warning to them not to commit crimes or sins.

“[Deeds] after the manner of the people of Pharaoh and of those before them; they rejected the Signs of Allah, and Allah punished them for their crimes; for Allah is Strong, and Strict in punishment”. S:A-Anfal: 52.

They did not afraid to commit crimes and sins. They did what they wanted to do without thinking it is good or bad, and the result of what they are doing. That showed the fall down of our morals and made us sacred. Our worry grow worsen when we think about the fallen morals that has spread out, mostly to the young people of our country.

Almost every day we see in the television, we read in the news paper and we saw ourselves with our own eyes the awe things that happened in our society. Cast baby, adultery, immoral, snatch thieve, robbery, killing and misused of drugs are rampant in our country to day. It showed that some of us did not afraid to commit big sins in order to full fill their last.

As result many misfortunes have fallen on us in various ways. Many of us lost their life and property in the fire, accidents, flood, and also became prey to deceiver, thief, snatched thief or robbery and so on.

As Allah had said,

“Mischief has appeared on land and seas because of [the deed] that the hands of men have earned, that [Allah] may give them a taste of some of their deeds; in order that they may turn back[ from evil].S:a-Rum:41.

The bad result of every misconduct or sins are not only to be fall on the doers, but to all the people surrounding them, their family, their society and country also will get the bad result. The sinners will not get blessing from Allah in this world. Their life in this world will not be happy and calm but surround up by all tangled up life. And in the next world Allah will throw them to hell fire as a punishment to what they have done in this mortal world.

Allah has absolute power. So as a Muslim we have to follow what ever God command. We have to check our self in and outside, our community and also our nation did not include in the group that asking for trouble from Allah.

Let us return to Allah with open and clean heart to

-To return to Islam in full way.

-To ignore all the things that prohibited by Allah.

-Very seriously and earnestly looking for the source of misfortune and disobedience that so far have created so many troubles in our life, and face it truthfully according to the rule of God.

-Spend most of our life time in doing good things and left all the bad things.

-We have to asked forgiveness from Allah and sincerely repent to God to all the misconducts that we have done and ask for guarded.

We have to be very calm and patient in facing any misfortune that be fall upon us and coped it with full strength that we have and in a way that not against the rule of Islam.

Be patient in facing the mischief is good medicine to cool our emotion and it is good to relief our sadness that have been fall on us. So that we can continue to live in good life as a servant of God and doing our good work to full fill our duty to God. Then we will receive good reward from Allah.

There are some men amongst us today when confront with mischief, they will not look for Allah to help, instead they looked other than Allah to help them. It is very sad to say that. They will look for shaman, paranormal, or sometime looking for religious men who like to deceive those are in needed. In fact they are the conman who used religion to swindle men who seek their help. Sometime instead taken money from their prey, they turn to be rapist and raped the women who came for their help.

It is often happen that they sell amulet, talisman, and some oil to their prey with the high cost, up to hundred or thousand dollars each. Sometimes they sell stones or dagger, or teach them some charm to get rid of the evil or to get good fortune in their life. But most of them asked syaitan or jin for help which are prohibited by Islam.

“What! Do they take for intercessors others besides Allah? Say, “Even if they have no power whatever and no intelligence?”.

“Say,”To Allah belongs exclusively [the right to grant] intercessions: to Him belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth; in the End, it is that you shall be brought back”. S:Az-Zumar: 43-44.

Verily those who seek help from other than Allah their efforts are useless,
They are wasting their times and wealth. They are the loser. They will get punishment for polytheism to Al-Mighty Allah.

As Dr. Kaukab Siddique said, “A person’s efforts to maintain awareness of Allah and to constantly endeavour to seek communication with Allah’s Will and to know oneself as a traveller on the way to Allah is the essence of Islam. All one’s knowledge of Islam and all one’s efforts to full fill the outer form of worship will not have a purifying and cleansing effect unless one diligently seeks the love of Allah.

To be a real Muslim we have to surrender ourselves, physically and mentally, our hearts and our souls to Allah, and asked no other than Allah to help us to settle our problems, whither small or big.
